Very cool looking cables and sturdy. I've been using them for a while and they really hold up. Used to be available in 6" and 12" but, alas, no longer. I could only find the 6."Prior to purchasing this I had a Hosa tweed cable. It works fine but I needed a second cable for various reasons. I like the tweed look so I limited my search to that. This Fender cable wasn't that much more expensive than the Hosa and it got good reviews so I bought one. First impressions are 1) The tweed is much more yellow than the Hosa, which has more beige in it. 2) The Fender cable is much fatter and more rigid. 3) The thickness seems to make it kink up more easily than the Hosa. I guess all cables kink up to some degree and I can live with it. So far it is working fine. No audible hiss. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I don't know how well it will hold up over time.fender has the nicest tweed,,,,, i had one failure on this cord and rebought as i said, like the old time tweed and fender name.....there are some look alike products and one of those brands i use as well... need that cord to make the sound no matter what you use.... the Look alike product is not as plush as the fender... UPDATE: two cords shorted out, but you get your money's worth... these are the right size gauge cords and tweed is beautiful still...When I upgraded to a Fender American Strat and a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp, I felt that I should have a quality cable to go with. This cable feels extremely well made. It feels heavy and does a good job of preventing kinks and twists. The connectors are well made and seem like they will last, and the cable sounds great. I like the 90° end for going into the vertical plug on the amp so there's less stress on the jack. Feels like a quality product that will last for a long time. Recommended! ?*UPDATE* I had some reservations about buying a 25 foot cable because of signal deterioration, but I needed one that long because of room restrictions. I have a Seymour Duncan pickup booster, so I knew I could always use that if need be. I'm happy to say that there is little to no signal loss with this cable, so I can use my pickup booster to boost my single coils. This cable performs as good or better than any other cable I've ever bought, and I've bought just about all the top name cables. 11/30/2014Fender Instrument Cables have always been my preferred choice primarily because there is no signal loss. Top quality tweed cable that look great, is easy to coil and doesn't kink up while being used. If there's one thing I hate it's wasting time fighting with cables.I purchased this short run of quality cable for my pedal chain. I also have a 10' run and quite a few pedal patch cables in this series. Fender custom shop cable sounds great and is well built. I love the vintage tweed wrap, a welcomed change from the black rubber shielding of virtually all other brands. These cables have a great, solid build and perform among my favorite sounding monster cables. They sound clean and uncolored, letting the sound of your instrument and gear (which you paid for) through. They stand up to use well and have a nice anti-tangle feature that tames their willingness to roll up nicely. Sound great, look great, Fender quality and a Fender lifetime guarantee! There is no down side to this cable.Really well braided cable, seems very durable. Been using it for a long time now with no issues.I have bought a lot of cables over the years and this one seems to be one of the best. Feels a little thicker than most cables but the true test is performance and I have played through mine for almost 2 years without any hiccups at all. Cables should last forever but any guitarist knows how frustrating it can be when you have a bad cable and it keeps crapping out and giving you some kind of static or distortion. I would definitely suggest using Fender Performance Series cables when you need high quality and can't afford a cable going bad during a gig, etc. This is the second lead I've had and both have had the same problem: the flexible rubber cover on the plug seems to perish and split within a few months of purchase. Full marks to Amazon who refunded and paid the postage for the lead I bought from them, but I had to pay postage on the lead I returned to Rich Tone Music, which came from Amazon Market place. Neither offered to exchange the lead which was strange because it is advertised with a lifetime guarantee. The lead did work well and I had no issues with it other than the rubber sleeve. I've now purchased a Planet Waves lead which seems much better made, although twice the price. Needless to say, I've bought it from Amazon, not market place, just in case there is a problem. As a man who is going to trust pretty much anything fender put their name to (call me naive) I bought this lead. Up until buying it, I'd generally buy cheap leads and expect a few months of life. Now having owned this, I don't know what I was thinking! YEARS OF WASTED TRIPS TO THE GUITAR SHOP! (the trips were wasted, I was quite sober) The lead has already paid for itself several times over, so whilst it may be a few pennies more than some, its well worth it.In terms of looks, It's very sharp. I love the black tweed, very retro but not too over the top. If black isn't your thing, it also comes in a more traditional tweed, yellowy type colour. On top of that it also comes in any length you could want, right down to a patch cable if you want all your gear to match which is good for the guitarist who likes consistency I guess.Performance wise I have been playing with this a good few months now and have had no problems with buzz or connection damage of any nature. The lead does is is told and so far hasn't started trying and curl back into a familiar shape, despite me always packing it away after use. It also has enough weight to it that it will stay where you leave it on stage, without being heavy.I personally love a right angled jack though you can get both straight should you prefer. On the whole this is a top quality item at a very reasonable price.I have heard some talk of a lifetime guarantee, I have not needed to look into this myself. Though as previously stated, for me, its already paid for itself. If it broke tomorrow, I would have had my moneys worth. It's a guitar cable - one end plugs into your electric guitar and the other end plugs into your guitar amplifier. That's the science and technology bit out of the way! This is a Fender Custom Shop cable so high quality construction, durability and excellent sound quality are guaranteed. And the retro 1950s tweed finish goes well with my fiesta red FSR Limited Edition '50s Fender Stratocaster with its gold hardware... I plugged into a "vintage" 2004 Fender Champion 300 amp - it has excellent FX - and those Fender '56 pickups started to sing - a sweet, pure and natural tone from the vintage single coil pickups which sounds full-bodied through this Custom Shop cable. Given the high quality construction and good looks, I don't think you'll find a better guitar cable at the price - at £18 the cable is a steal, and if treated well will last for decades...This 10ft guitar cable from Fender has a straight jack one end and an L-jack (or angled jack) at the other so is suitable for guitars like the SG with the power socket on the front of the body, but you can use it for any guitar and plug the L-jack into the amp. This cable has a distinctive black patterned tweed covering so is instantly recognisable and doesn’t look like any other cable. The specification is high and the cable more expensive than average, but the extra is worth it. A small minority of reviewers have reported poor quality/bad experience with this cable, but my experience of it over months of use is 100% good.I was used to these cheap cables so the difference was massive. I don't get why I didn't use something like this earlier. You get a lot of durability for the price; feels absolutely great. Easy 5/5!As for the interference and the hum, it didn't decrease because I have a ton of adapters and sockets nearby so if you think this will make you silent, look into the concept of interference first.Sound quality... hmm. Bit of improvement over the 5 quid cable. Not seriously discernable in a home practice setting, I'm not running a studio here.If you are using some cheap crap like I did, order today, you'll appreciate the difference!******Unfortunately about 3 years in, the cable has started showing some very serious wear at the base of the jacks, with that classic look of bending plastic whitening out. Got to the point where it would only work if you started rotating and squeezing it etc. -- not something I would've expected from a custom shop product, so I will revise my original 5 stars and give it 2.
