Vertical Cable 054-446GR This Cat 5e unshielded twisted pair (utp) cable is a high-performance data communication cable suitable for 350mhz high speed applications. It has excellent attenuation and crosstalk characteristics and exceeds TIA/EIA-568-C.2 specification. This ethernet cable is designed for indoor and riser network installations and is approved by ETL to be type CMR. The wires are 24 awg in size and are made of solid bare copper conductors. All 4 pairs are easily identified by color stripes. The insulation material is PE and the jacket is made of PVC. I wired my house for GigE with this cabling. The cable is sufficiently jacketed and the gauge of the solid conductors is large enough to resist breaking, say from inadvertently pulling around a tight bend or corner. The conductors are well marked, consistently twisted and are reasonably good to work with as far as solid conductors go. I'd buy this again.If you're going to be doing a home wiring project, I recommend that you get a set of "fish sticks", gaffer tape and possibly braided twine to help you make the cable to stick connections, or ideally a tool that attaches to the end of your stick that grips the cable like a Chinese finger cuff. If you plan on running through conduit, "fish tape" is almost mandatory, and a dry lubricant will help make running multiple cables through a lot easier.
